History of Beginning
I came to Sri Lanka after 15 years of being abroad to take care of my aging parents. I did not want to waste time while looking after them so I was thinking of a self business that I could do.
One morning my mother was making curry powder necessities for the house and the whole house was filled with that aroma.
I was more enthusiastic to know about the ingredients she used, percentage of each and the whole process to make it a high quality product while keeping the same aroma.
My mother very happily explained everything in detail and said it was her mother's recipe from Matara.
I had a dream of starting my own business and I thought of starting a self run to make it a perfect one because the spice business does not require a high capital, large space and infrastructure development.
I spoke more about it with my family and decided to gather more details about obtaining local government authority registrations, market opportunities, health regulations related to such business and so on.
Once the full details were collected, I contacted the Public Health Inspector to obtain his permission to make it in accordance with health regulations.
The business went public few months later. Then after a couple of months came the unfortunate epidemic. It was a difficult period for everyone, every business and I too faced huge issues such as to go forward according to the health guidelines, maitain supply chain without shortage and interruption, run a proffitable business in such close enviorment.
Moving on I dicided to make use of such enviormental obstacles as an opportunity to expand my range and variety to establish the business in its current form.
